The Family Shadetree
MEETING STUDENT FAMILIES WHERE THEY ARE HURTING
The Family Shadetree is a 501(c)(3), non-profit, faith based, community driven organization in Dallas, Texas. The organization provides short-term assistance to help underserved, low-income, urban families who have been struck by a debilitating event or series of outside influences that negatively affect a student’s stability or educational well being.
These students and families oftentimes fall through the cracks, appear on waiting lists of other organizations or otherwise are casualties that fall out of the educational system when seemingly small events snowball into long-term, negative impacts and drastically hurt young lives.
The Family Shadetree’s assistance takes many forms and is different depending on individual situations. In general terms, we strive to meet student families in crisis at their point of pain and offer short-term remedy while giving long-term solutions.
We offer hope by creating better spiritual, educational and learning opportunities through smaller, more personalized settings with greater access and control to address family’s specific and individual needs.
